Every once in a while autocorrect gets it right ... because I did mean "fantastic duck in Portland tonight."
If you're near this run-down section of 82nd Avenue and it looks like a duck and tastes like a duck ... well, then it's probably roast duck from Best Taste Chinese BBQ Restaurant. Oregon is a state that loves its ducks and THIS is the place to get Hong Kong (Cantonese-style) roasted duck in Portland.
Yelp lists the restaurant as Best Taste to Go. Why? I don't know, but we were right to listen to Yelp and just get some tasty duck to go. In fact. I recommend you get 2 and make it "DuckDuckGo" (like that search engine no one uses).
We popped in to Best Taste for a whole duck to go. It was still warm when we got home and, more importantly, still tasted juicy, sweet, and salty. I don't think it was the best taste, but it was still pretty good taste.
Go to Best Taste. Come to the duck side. -

Ok, the stars are going toward the BBQ items, not the dim-sums. I'd rate the BBQ 5 stars and the dim sums 3 stars.
The dim sums are cheap, so I'll always order some if I am there. However, they are alright. There's one time I got a few BBQ buns with so little pork in it, I LOLed!
Their BBQ is, however, the best in Portland. If you come early, you'll get fresh cut of all BBQ items. I tried their roasted pig, BBQ pork, roasted duck and the chicken; and am happy to report they tasted just like what you'll get in Hong Kong/Taiwan! If you really like certain cuts, you can call ahead and reserve some. A lot of their togo orders are the whole roasted pig, which sounds amazing!
I usually get the "3 meat platter" (I think that's the name. Basically you get 3 different meat in a smaller platter) and a few dim sum to go. Then i drop by the market to get some fresh Chinese Broccoli. When I get home, I blanch the vegetable and make some rice. Then the dinner is served! -

This place is a great place for Chinese food (it's affordable too). It's a little hole-in-the-wallish type of place, but it's good. While many people get the BBQ items, I come here mainly for the dim sum items and noodle soups. It's one of my go-to places to eat in Portland.

Good fast cheap friendly place to get dim sum. Not really crowded compared to others. It's much cheaper than others, it's about 2-2.50 for 4 pieces. The shu mai is good, har gow is a tiny bit smaller than other places. I'd return!

Was craving some roast duck, and saw this place on Yelp listing. It's definitely your typical "hole in the wall" Chinese establishment. There's only a few tables for dine in. To the left, there's a small cutting board/area where all the meats are chopped for your belly's pleasure. They have all the meats hanging in the hot case. They also offer Dim Sum, but I came later in the day, so most of it was already gone. I got 1/2 duck for $11. Boy, was it gooood!!! I would say it was near perfect if only the skin was crispier. Many places don't properly roast the duck to render the fat. I'm not a fan of the excess layer of fat between the skin and the meat of the duck, because it's already a savory, dark meat. The spices, flavor, and amount of saltiness was just about near perfection. Highly recommend this place if you have a hankering for some tasty, flavorful roast duck! Will have to return and try their Dim Sum.
